Blog: Eager for market and ready to see products – Furniture Today

I feel it coming, a sense of normalcy. Yes, we are here in High Point for a market. It is June; however, we’re here, and retailers have said they will be here, too.

After this event, we’ll be inching our way back to our traditional market schedule. The Summer Las Vegas Market will be in August, and lo and behold, the fall High Point Market will find itself back where it belongs in October. Color me beyond excited!

It’s with eager anticipation that I will be able to walk into a showroom, meet an executive face to face and check out new sleep products live and in person.

From the looks of my inbox and the calls I’ve been having, there are a number of interesting products to experience and a lot of great conversations to be had.

Paramount Sleep, Magniflex, Eclipse International, Enso Sleep System, Malouf, Therapedic International, Classic Brands, Sleepwell and Bedgear are among the bedding companies here with fresh goods to help freshen up retail floors.

The focus on antibacterial and cleaner materials runs throughout products being showcase is a continuation of a trend that picked up momentum last year.

Bedgear’s GermShield mattress and pillow covers feature a lab-tested treatment to protect the fabric from certain germs, bacteria, odor and microbes. New product from Eclipse features natural materials, including Talalay latex, organic cotton and GOTS-certified wool across two collections: Natural Dreams and Millbrook, a partnership with United Kingdom-based luxury mattress manufacturer.

Magniflex maintains its focus on eco-friendly products. The company, making a return to the High Point Market in a shared showroom with Copeland Furniture, is expanding its Toscana line with an opening price point model, Cotton Lux 10.

The luxury sleep category will get a boost during the week from Paramount Sleep’s A.H. Beard Signature collection. Priced to retail from $6,499 to $10,000 in queen, the collection features up to 8,000 coils, natural and exotic fibers like mohair, merino wool and certified organic cotton.

Health, wellness and tranquility will be at the forefront in the Therapedic and Malouf showrooms. Both companies are highlighting additions to their CBD-infused sleep lineups. Both companies have incorporated CBD spritzers, linen sprays and other accessories to enhance the calming effect of CBD.

Therapedic’s three-model B-calm line now has linen and room spray, as well as a tincture for retailers to sell alongside the mattresses. Malouf has expanded its offering to include CBD pillow spritzer and a dual-sided mattress topper infused with CBD oil.

Enso Sleep System, a division of Klaussner Furniture, is introducing its Advantage collection of three, gel-infused memory foam mattresses in 8-, 10- and 12-inch profiles. Designed for boxed bed delivery, the mattresses are made in North America.

While a smaller roundup than typical for a so-called normal bedding market, it’s a welcome start to that return that we are all eager to experience. I’ll take it.

Here’s to a great week at Market. See you in Las Vegas in August, and then, back in High Point in October. Just as it should be.
